Create Your Own Account in Rediffmail
Rediff.com reminds you of the early days of Google and Yahoo. An engine that goes all the way to India, Rediff aims to offer all the most interesting things the most convenient way possible: making them accessible to you by mere clicks of your mouse or few presses on the keyboard.
Like Google, you can create a universal account in Rediff. Go to their website and fill out a form. However, if you want a Rediffmail account, its free e-mail service, choose Create Your Rediffmail Account instead.
Fill out the form following these instructions:
Write your full name.
Choose your username. Click on Check Availability if you want to know if somebody has already taken your desired ID. If there is none yet, it should say "Yipee! The ID you've chosen is available." "Sorry, the ID that you are looking for is taken" means you have to create another one. Fortunately, Rediffmail also comes up with suggestions for you. You can just choose among the recommended user IDs to proceed with the rest of the application.
Create your password. Rediffmail has password limits. You should never go below 6 characters and never more than 12.
Retype your password. This gives you ample time to decide if it's the password you really like to use.
Include an alternate e-mail address. This is usually the primary method of recovering your password. However, if you don't have one, you have to click on "Click if you have an alternate ID."
Create a Security question. This is ideal for those who do not have an alternate e-mail address. Choose the best question in the drop-down list.
Fill out the answer that best fits the question you have chosen.
Enter your mother's maiden name.
Identify your date of birth. Simply choose the right month, day, and year in the drop-down menu.
Select your gender.
Determine your location. So far, Rediffmail can be used by those who live in India, United States, United Kingdom, Canada, Singapore, Malaysia, Australia, Saudi Arabia, United Arab Emirates, and Africa.
Choose your city.
Copy the text for verification.
You can customize your Rediffmail by selecting your interests. You will receive instant updates about them directly to your e-mail account. Nevertheless, you can opt not to fill your inbox with announcements by skipping this process and proceeding to your inbox.
